MiQLab for Open-Access Testing
Gain complete control (i.e. open-access) and fully automate your testing with a highly multiplexed sample-to-answer system capable of accepting customized or the user’s own qPCR assays for improved workflow and cost savings.
Overview
MiQLabTM is a fully integrated sample-to-answer system that is automated to provide sample preparation, qPCR reaction assembly and amplification of target genomic sequences, analysis, and reporting.
For Research Use Only.
Automate and customize your testing for improved workflow
LexaGene’s MiQLab™ System for Open-Access is a fully automated system designed for use in multiple areas of testing, to improve workflow associated with scientific research, product development, and reference laboratory automation.
The MiQLab system uses real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) to simultaneously screen for up to 27 targets at once with high sensitivity and specificity and return results in ~1 hour.
The system is designed for flexibility–its open-access design enables additional test panels to be incorporated at any time.
Research Use Only.
MiQLab Open-Access Test Capabilities
To use non-LexaGene developed assays, the user needs to simply pipette their qPCR assays into the MiQLab’s assay panel, load the panel into the MiQLab for automated processing, and load the sample to initiate testing.
There are three offerings to best suit your needs.
Flex: Use your own tests. LexaGene provides in-silico assay support.
Choice: Choose from LexaGene-tested assays. Please inquire about test menu.
Customized: LexaGene designs your assays and validates them.
The MiQLab Open-Access Panel comes with an Instruction for Use Guide that provides step-by-step instructions for loading your own FAM, HEX, or VIC labeled assays onto the MiQLab system so the system can automate the processing of your samples.
LexaGene can also provide a menu of our validated assays for your use, designated Research Use Only.
LexaGene can also customize and develop assays using our team of skilled biologists.

MiQLab Technology
This all-in-one automated system seamlessly integrates nucleic acid extraction and purification, target amplification, detection, and reporting. It is easy to operate with a simple sample-to-answer workflow.

We’re interested in LexaGene’s technology not only for its ease-of-use as it automates sample prep, assay assembly, and assay performance, but also because its ‘open-access’ feature allows us to use our own assays. Collectively, this integrated device drastically reduces our hands-on time. Being able to combine automated sample extraction and analysis at a reasonable price would be a huge selling point for us.
Mary Beth Minyard Director of Microbiology, Assurance Scientific LaboratoriesOur current microbial test method is limited by hands-on time, whereas LexaGene’s technology will substantially streamline our process. For example, if I were to process a sample using our standard method versus LexaGene’s analyzer, their analyzer would report results back about twice as fast as our current method—and require 95% less hands-on analyst time. These time savings would largely impact our test profit margins in a great way, not to mention the lower operating cost due to 5-fold less reagents used per test.
