LexaGene is a biotechnology company that develops genetic analyzers for pathogen detection and other molecular markers for automated testing in veterinary diagnostics, food safety and other markets.
An exciting opportunity exists for an engineering specialist. You will be responsible for the prototype, assembly, test, integration and troubleshooting of advanced prototype instrument platforms.
Assembles and fabricates electromechanical instrument modules, machined parts, injection molded components and 3D printed devices into functional prototypes.
Designs and coordinates engineering tests, test fixtures, and experiments. Test and qualify products or subassemblies following test protocols
Writes and edits software scripts for test automation
Create and maintain engineering drawings and procedures
Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results
Assemble and inspect microfluidic disposable components
Support various engineering development and lab maintenance activities as required
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Associates technical degree or higher
>2 years industry experience with complex electro-mechanical device, instruments, or products
Familiarity with a prototype shop and use of 3D printers and laser cutters
Printed circuit board assembly and soldering skills
Solidworks knowledge is a plus
Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high degree of organizational and technical competence
Highly organized, quality conscious with great attention to detail
Experience with developing test protocols/procedures, collecting and analyzing data, and creating detailed reports.
Passionate with a strong desire to learn and succeed and play a key role in developing new technologies.
